VPS Hosting / Minecraft server hosting
Game server VPS in Amsterdam, Prishtina and DublinMinecraft server hosting at RS Computers is a KVM VPS in Amsterdam, Prishtina or Dublin with full root access, NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6 and unmetered traffic, where you run Java or Bedrock, Paper, Fabric or Forge, and CS2, Rust or Valheim alongside if the memory allows. Pick the city nearest your players: our Amsterdam server answered in 6.6 ms from Frankfurt in our own ping.pe test, and Prishtina is the closer choice for Balkan groups.

Prishtina is sold out at the moment. The same plans and prices are available in Amsterdam and Dublin. Follow us on Telegram to hear when Kosovo capacity is back.
Every plan: NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6, free weekly backups and full root access. Windows Server is available on VPS Mini and all VDS plans.
Measured with ping.pe: our Amsterdam server answered in 6.6 ms from Frankfurt and 6.7 ms from London; Prishtina serves Balkan groups, 21.9 ms from Bucharest.
Full root access: run vanilla, Paper, Fabric, Forge or Bedrock, and add Geyser so both editions share one world.
Pterodactyl runs each server in Docker and needs KVM, which every plan is. Crafty Controller works too. No panel is preinstalled, so the choice is yours.
Free weekly backups you restore from the client area, plus reboot, reinstall and a console for the day a plugin update goes wrong.
RS Computers sells Minecraft server hosting as a plain KVM virtual server. You get the whole machine: full root access, NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6 and unmetered traffic, in Amsterdam, Prishtina or Dublin. There is no slot limit and no list of approved plugins. You decide between Java and Bedrock, vanilla, Paper, Fabric or Forge, and the same server can run CS2, Rust or Valheim next to Minecraft as long as the memory adds up. The six plans above cost the same in all three cities.
The trade is simple. A panel host does the installing and decides what you may change. A VPS gives you the freedom and the work: no game control panel is included, so you install the server yourself or add a free panel. Our game server hosting guide has every command for Minecraft, CS2, Rust, Valheim and Palworld; this page helps you pick the plan and the city.
Hosting adverts tend to print a player count next to every gigabyte. The documentation is more modest. The Minecraft Wiki's dedicated server requirements for a Java server on Linux list 512 MB for 1 to 5 players, 1 GB for 5 to 10, 3 GB for 10 to 15, 5 GB for 15 to 20 and 6 GB above 20. Those figures cover the server process alone, assume default settings and a new world, and the operating system needs memory on top. The wiki's general requirements page adds that a big world with redstone machinery and mob grinders can easily more than double them.
Paper, the most widely used plugin server, sets a higher bar. Its guide to the recommended JVM flags suggests at least 6 to 10 GB of heap no matter how few players, and tells you to set the heap 1000 to 1500 MB below the machine's memory so the system keeps some room: on an 8 GB server, about 6500 MB for Java. Paper also warns that above a certain point more memory does not mean better performance.
This is how we would match those figures to our plans. The exact vCPU, memory and disk of every plan are on the cards above.
| Game and setup | What the developer or wiki says | Plan we would start on |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft Java, vanilla, up to 10 friends | 512 MB to 1 GB for the server alone (Minecraft Wiki) | VPS Micro, or VPS Mini once the world grows |
| Minecraft Java on Paper with plugins | At least 6 to 10 GB of heap (PaperMC) | VDS Small; VPS Mini if you accept a smaller heap |
| Large Forge, NeoForge or Fabric modpacks | Set by each pack, so read its page first | VDS Medium |
| Minecraft Bedrock Dedicated Server | 4 GB minimum, more above 10 players (Minecraft Wiki) | VPS Mini; VDS Small above 10 players |
| Counter-Strike 2 | 85 GB of storage for the game (Steam); the server installs the same app | VDS Small, mainly for the disk |
| Rust | 12 GB of free memory, more on large maps (Facepunch) | VDS Medium |
| Valheim | Iron Gate publishes no memory figure for its server | VPS Mini for a small group |
| Palworld | 16 GB, with 32 GB or more recommended (Pocketpair) | VDS Medium; VDS Large for a busy server |
Memory is only half of it. The Minecraft Wiki asks for a CPU with good single-core performance and notes that the server typically uses three cores at most, with extra work from plugins spread over more cores while the core world ticking stays the same. vCPUs on every RS Computers plan are shared with other servers on the host, so leave yourself headroom instead of buying the bare minimum, and watch the tick time once players arrive.
Ping comes from distance far more than from hardware. We measured ours on 6 October 2026 with ping.pe, a public tool that pings an address from probes in many cities. Each figure is the lowest of about ten pings from that city; your players' own internet providers add their share.
| Players in or near | Server we would pick | Measured round trip |
|---|---|---|
| Frankfurt | Amsterdam | 6.6 ms |
| London | Amsterdam | 6.7 ms |
| Paris | Amsterdam | 9.3 ms |
| Berlin | Amsterdam | 11.6 ms |
| Stockholm | Amsterdam | 16.7 ms |
| Warsaw | Amsterdam | 21.1 ms |
| Madrid | Amsterdam | 27.3 ms |
| Vienna | Either | 18.1 ms to Amsterdam, 18.6 ms to Prishtina |
| Bucharest | Prishtina | 21.9 ms |
| Athens | Prishtina | 30.9 ms |
Amsterdam is the natural home for a mixed European group. For friends in Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia and the rest of the Balkans, pick Prishtina, about 3 ms from Skopje on our network: Amsterdam measured 36.9 ms from Prishtina, where our own data centre is. A group split between Germany and the Balkans can go either way, as Vienna shows. Dublin suits players in Ireland. More on each city: Amsterdam, Prishtina, Dublin.
Because every plan is a plain KVM server, the setup is yours. Three routes cover most communities:
Whatever you install, keep copies of the world. Every plan includes free weekly backups of the whole server that you restore from the client area, and a nightly copy of the world folder to another location covers the days in between; our guide to offsite backups with restic shows how. A small Uptime Kuma monitor tells you the server is down before your players do.
The same plans host Counter-Strike 2, Rust, Valheim and Palworld, which all ship native Linux servers. As the table shows, CS2 needs disk, Rust and Palworld need memory, and Valheim is light. A few dedicated servers exist for Windows only: Keen Software House lists a Windows PC for the Space Engineers server. Windows Server runs on VPS Mini and every VDS plan, and the Windows VPS page explains the versions and Remote Desktop.
Linux images include Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux, among others.
Questions about a modpack or the right plan go to Telegram or info@rscomputers-ks.com, answered Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.
For vanilla Java on Linux, the Minecraft Wiki lists 1 GB for 5 to 10 players and 3 GB for 10 to 15, for the server alone, with the operating system needing more on top. Paper's documentation recommends 6 to 10 GB of heap with its tuned flags, set 1000 to 1500 MB below the machine's memory. At RS Computers that means VPS Micro or VPS Mini for a group of friends, and VDS Small or larger for plugin and modded servers.
It depends on how much you want to control. A panel host installs the server for you but sets the limits on plugins, slots and location. An RS Computers VPS gives you full root access, a dedicated IPv4 address and the choice of Amsterdam, Prishtina or Dublin. No game panel is included: you install the server yourself with our setup guide, or add a free panel such as Crafty Controller or Pterodactyl. The same VPS can also run other games, a Discord bot or a website.
Yes. Run a Java server on Paper and add Geyser, which lets Bedrock Edition clients on phones, tablets, consoles and Windows join a Java Edition server. If everyone plays Bedrock, Mojang's Bedrock Dedicated Server is the alternative; the Minecraft Wiki lists 4 GB of memory as its minimum and Ubuntu 22.04 or later as the officially supported Linux. On RS Computers plans, start from VPS Mini for either setup.
Yes, you have full root access, so nothing is off limits. Paper runs plugins; Fabric, Forge and NeoForge load mods. Plan on one platform per server, since plugins and mods are built for different server software. Modpacks often name a specific Java version, and you install whichever one the pack asks for. Small plugin servers fit on VPS Mini or VDS Small at RS Computers, while large modpacks are more comfortable on VDS Medium.
The city closest to most of them. In our ping.pe test on 6 October 2026, our Amsterdam server answered in 6.6 ms from Frankfurt, 6.7 ms from London and 9.3 ms from Paris, while our Prishtina server answered in 21.9 ms from Bucharest and 30.9 ms from Athens. Choose Amsterdam for a mixed European group, Prishtina for players in Kosovo and the Balkans, and Dublin for Ireland. RS Computers offers the same plans and prices in all three.
Yes, as long as the memory adds up and each server has its own ports. A Minecraft server and a small Valheim world can share one machine. Rust alone asks for 12 GB of free memory according to Facepunch, and Palworld 16 GB according to Pocketpair, so they need VDS Medium or larger. Pterodactyl or Docker keep several servers apart, and our game server guide has the steps for each game.
RS Computers does not list DDoS protection as a feature of its game server plans, so ask us on Telegram before you order, naming the game and the city, and we will tell you what applies. You can also cut your own exposure: open only the game ports, keep RCON closed to the internet, use a whitelist on private Minecraft servers and share the address only with your players.
Deployment is automatic after payment and usually finishes within minutes, with the root login in the client area. After that you install Java and the server jar, or a panel, and open the game port; our setup guide lists every command in order. If an install goes wrong, reinstall the operating system from the client area or restore the free weekly backup and start again.
Ask on Telegram and a person from our team answers: Mon to Fri 09:00 to 17:00, with a 24/7 NOC for emergencies.
