VPS Hosting / VPS Netherlands
Amsterdam, NetherlandsA VPS in the Netherlands from RS Computers is a KVM server in Amsterdam, one of Europe's busiest internet hubs, with NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6, unmetered traffic and free weekly backups. In our own test with ping.pe, probes in Frankfurt and London reached our Amsterdam server in about 7 ms and Paris in 9.3 ms, and a new server is usually ready within minutes of payment.

Every plan: NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6, free weekly backups and full root access. Windows Server is available on VPS Mini and all VDS plans.
Amsterdam is home to AMS-IX, one of the largest internet exchanges in the world, with 903 connected networks listed on its site in October 2026.
Measured to our Amsterdam server with ping.pe: 6.6 ms from Frankfurt, 6.7 ms from London, 9.3 ms from Paris and 11.6 ms from Berlin.
The Netherlands is an EU member state under the GDPR, and we sign a Data Processing Agreement with customers.
Every plan has unmetered traffic over multi-carrier transit: 1 Gb/s on VPS plans, 10 Gb/s on VDS plans.
RS Computers runs VPS hosting in the Netherlands from Amsterdam, next to our own data centre in Prishtina and a third location in Dublin. A Netherlands VPS from us is a KVM virtual machine with NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6, unmetered traffic and full root access, or administrator access on Windows Server. The six plans above cost the same in every location, so the real question on this page is whether Amsterdam is the right city for your server. For projects aimed at Western and Central Europe, or at users you cannot place yet, it usually is.
RS Computers LLC was founded in Kosovo in 2018 and opened the Amsterdam and Dublin locations in 2026. The same team runs all three.
Most of the answer is one organisation: AMS-IX, the Amsterdam Internet Exchange. It started in 1994, when academic networks at Amsterdam's Science Park wanted to swap traffic directly, and it grew into one of the largest internet exchange points in the world, with equipment in 16 data centres across the Netherlands (AMS-IX, 30 years of AMS-IX). When we checked in October 2026, the AMS-IX website listed 903 connected networks and a traffic peak of about 15 Tb/s. With that many ISPs, carriers and content networks present in one city, a packet between a server in Amsterdam and a visitor elsewhere in Europe has a good chance of taking a short path.
Distance still sets a limit that no provider can buy its way past. Light in single-mode fibre covers a kilometre in about 4.9 microseconds (M2 Optics), which comes to roughly 1 ms of round trip for every 100 km of cable. Cables do not follow straight lines and every router adds a little, so real pings sit above that floor. The rule is still useful: it tells you what any host in any city can and cannot deliver.
We measured on 6 October 2026 with ping.pe, a public tool that pings an address from probes in many cities, and the last column shows the lowest of about 10 pings from each probe city to an RS Computers server in Amsterdam, with no packet loss; your own ping depends on your ISP. Next to it is the straight-line distance.
| City | Distance from Amsterdam | Measured to our Amsterdam server |
|---|---|---|
| London | 358 km | 6.7 ms |
| Frankfurt | 363 km | 6.6 ms |
| Paris | 430 km | 9.3 ms |
| Manchester | 495 km | 11.9 ms |
| Berlin | 576 km | 11.6 ms |
| Dublin | 757 km | 21.0 ms |
| Vienna | 935 km | 18.1 ms |
| Warsaw | 1,093 km | 21.1 ms |
| Stockholm | 1,125 km | 16.7 ms |
| Madrid | 1,481 km | 27.3 ms |
| Prishtina | 1,623 km | 36.9 ms |
| Istanbul | 2,212 km | 42.8 ms |
| New York | 5,863 km | 72.4 ms |
Probes in London, Frankfurt, Paris, Berlin and Manchester all reached the server in under 12 ms, the range where a web page feels instant and an SSH session feels local. Cable routes matter as much as kilometres: Stockholm answered faster than Warsaw, and Vienna faster than Dublin, although Dublin is closer. New York at 72.4 ms is fine for an API or a website with American visitors, less so for a game server aimed at them.
A central location makes Amsterdam a sensible default when your users are spread across Europe. Typical jobs:
The Netherlands is an EU member state, so the General Data Protection Regulation applies directly, and the national supervisor is the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Personal data on an Amsterdam VPS is stored inside the Union, which keeps the question "where does our data live?" short.
Two points worth knowing before you order. RS Computers LLC is registered in Kosovo, outside the EU, and under GDPR Article 28 a hosting provider acts as your processor, so we sign a Data Processing Agreement with customers; send your compliance questions to us first. And the GDPR follows your organisation, not only the hardware: Article 3 covers processing by an EU establishment wherever it happens. A Dutch server helps, but your own records and contracts still matter.
All three locations sell the same plans at the same prices, so choose by where your users and your data should be.
| Location | Choose it when | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Amsterdam | Your users are across Western and Central Europe, or spread worldwide | Central position; measured 6.6 to 11.6 ms from Frankfurt, London, Paris and Berlin |
| Prishtina | Your users are in Kosovo and the Balkans, or data should stay in Kosovo | Our own data centre, local routes in the region, Kosovo jurisdiction |
| Dublin | Your users are in Ireland, or you want a second EU location | EU jurisdiction on the western edge of Europe |
The Prishtina row in the latency table, 36.9 ms, shows the distance from Amsterdam to the Balkans; if most of your visitors are in Kosovo, a server in Prishtina sits much closer to them. You can also combine locations: run the main app in Amsterdam and keep a replica or an extra backup copy in Dublin or Prishtina, in another country.
Linux images include Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux, among others. Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025 are available on VPS Mini and all three VDS plans; VPS Nano and VPS Micro are Linux only. If Windows is the main reason you are here, see Windows VPS with RDP.

RS Computers also has network presence in Amsterdam through an IP transit point of presence at Qupra Datacenter. If you operate your own AS and need transit rather than a virtual server, see IP transit.
Yes, for most European audiences. Amsterdam is home to AMS-IX, one of the largest internet exchanges in the world, which listed 903 connected networks on its website in October 2026. In our own ping.pe test on 6 October 2026, probes reached our Amsterdam server in 6.6 ms from Frankfurt, 6.7 ms from London, 9.3 ms from Paris and 11.6 ms from Berlin. If most of your users are in Kosovo or the Balkans, a server in Prishtina is closer to them.
When we tested our Amsterdam server with ping.pe on 6 October 2026, the lowest round trips were 6.6 to 11.9 ms from Frankfurt, London, Paris, Berlin and Manchester, 21.0 ms from Dublin and 72.4 ms from New York. Physics sets the floor: light in fibre needs roughly 1 ms of round trip per 100 km, so no host in Amsterdam can beat about 3.6 ms to London, 358 km away in a straight line. Your own ISP's routing adds the rest.
The location helps, but compliance depends on how you process the data. A VPS in Amsterdam keeps data inside the EU, where the GDPR applies and the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens supervises. RS Computers LLC, a Kosovo company, acts as your processor and signs a Data Processing Agreement with you. You still need your own lawful basis, security measures and records, as you would with any host.
Yes. Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025 run on VPS Mini, VDS Small, VDS Medium and VDS Large in Amsterdam, with full administrator access. VPS Nano and VPS Micro are Linux only. Switch the plan block on this page to Windows to see which plans support it, then choose Windows as the operating system at the configure step. More details are on the Windows VPS page.
Yes. Outbound port 25 is blocked on every new server and opened on request: message us on Telegram. Set the reverse DNS (PTR) record for your IPv4 address in the client area panel first; if that does not work, ask us on Telegram and we set it. Our mailcow guide covers SPF, DKIM and DMARC so your mail is accepted by the big providers.
Your server gets a dedicated IPv4 address plus IPv6, routed from Amsterdam. Which country a website shows for that address depends on the geolocation database it uses, and each database is updated on its own schedule, so no host can promise how every service labels an IP. If a Netherlands location in a particular database matters to your project, ask us on Telegram before you order.
Usually within minutes. Deployment is automatic after payment: choose a plan with the Netherlands selected, pick a Linux distribution or Windows Server, pay, and your root or administrator login appears in the client area. From the same panel you can reboot, reinstall and open a console yourself, and restore the free weekly backups that come with every plan.
For most users the difference is small: in our ping.pe test, a probe in Frankfurt reached our Amsterdam server in 6.6 ms. A probe in London took 6.7 ms, almost the same, which makes Amsterdam a good middle point if one server has to serve both the UK and continental Europe. RS Computers offers Amsterdam, Dublin and Prishtina rather than Frankfurt, with the same plans and prices in each.
Ask on Telegram and a person from our team answers: Mon to Fri 09:00 to 17:00, with a 24/7 NOC for emergencies.
